The Washington Post has become the latest newspaper to have its website hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army.
In a blog post on the paper's site, managing editor Emilio Garcia-Ruiz confirmed the hacking.
A note has been published on the title’s website which says that readers on certain stories are being redirected to the website of the SEA, a computer hacking group which is said to be acting in support of Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad.
The note states that “the Post is working to resolve the issue”.

The SEA has taken credit for hacking a series of media outlets already this year. Its targets have included the Twitter feeds of the Financial Times, The Guardian and the BBC, on the basis that they presented sympathetic coverage of Syrian anti-government rebels. Sky Android apps were also targeted in May.
